Tech Mentorship Program
applications for our third installation of the tech mentorship program are now closed! Thank you to all who applied. you will be hearing from the program coordinator soon.
Have you always wanted to work on the production team at a festival, but don’t know where to start? Are you an artist wanting to gain greater understanding of the technical side of your performances? Are you part of a community that has been historically underrepresented in the production industry? Do you thrive in the behind-the-scenes role of making an event happen? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you may want to apply to the Tiny Lights Tech Mentorship Program.
Participants will be given a hands-on opportunity to develop many skills necessary to be a production technician at a rural music festival. Festivals are a fast-paced environment with quick changeover times and lots of variety, making it an ideal environment to learn on the job. As one of a handful of participants, you will have the opportunity for group learning and one-on-one mentorship.
Before the festival begins, you will get six hours of training, including three hours of fundamental skills and three hours of specialized training in one of three areas: sound, lights, or stage management. During the festival, participants will work as stagehands and assist the festival technicians with any aspects of production.
